Biography of Luding Khenchen Rinpoche His Eminence is the 75th Head of the Ngor sub-school of the Sakya tradition (a post he held for over 40 years) and was born in 1931 near the great seat of Ngor Ewam monasteries. Being the eldest in this family, His Eminence was ordained as a monk at the age of ten by Khenchen Sarchen Lungtok Gyaltsen. For the next thirteen years, His Eminence was blessed with pith instructions of Lamdre, initiations, oral transmissions, language and poetry. His Eminence’s other teachers include the two Khenchens of Ewam Khangsar Ladrang, His Holiness Sakya Trizin and His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche.

Amitayu and Phowa Teachings
The Amitayu Long Life Empowerment and Prosperity Blessing is the precious teaching of Guru Padmasambhava. Amitayu Buddha or "Buddha of Boundless Life" is considered the Sambhogakaya aspect of the widely known Amitabha Buddha. Phowa practice, which is not just for the moment of death, also helps to purify our regrets, harms and negativity, and it can be used to assist in emotional or physical healing.

Lamdre Practice and Instruction
We are happy to offer a rare opportunity for Lamdre initiates to have an intimate meeting with His Eminence, an accomplished Lamdre Master. His Eminence has given the precious Lamdre teachings fifteen times. On this occasion he will transmit teachings and answer questions on the practices of Lamdre. BLESSING OF HOLY OBJECTS

Rinpoche will kindly bless thangkas, holy photos and malas nightly. Bring your items to each teaching event and they will be blessed by Rinpoche and returned to you that evening. Make sure you remember to pick your items nightly! You can make your own offerings to Rinpoche at that time.

Rinpoche will also consecrate statues by filling the statues with prayers, blessing and mantras during his New York City visit. This process takes several days. Bring your statues ahead of time to: Palden Sakya Center, 4 West 101 St., #63, New York City ONLY DURING THE FOLLOWING DAYS AND TIMES: 9/28, 9/30, 10/5, 10/7, 10/12 between the hours of 9 AM-9 PM. Make sure your name, address, contact info is with each statue when you bring it to the Palden Sakya Center, along with a monetary offering which will go to Rinpoche's Ngor Monastery. Suggested donation: $50.00 for small statue; $100.00 for medium statue and $150.00 for large statue. You will be picking up your statues at the NY Palden Sakya Center AFTER Rinpoche's visit. We will call you when the consecration is complete. Make sure you include contact information with your statues.
