GANDEN SHARTSE MONKS VISIT WOODSTOCK NY

The Tibetan Studies Society hosted nine monks from Ganden Shartse Monastery in South India from May 4th to May 14th in Woodstock, NY. The monks offered teachings and empowerments at the Tibetan Studies Society, performed special rituals at KTD Monastery in Woodstock, and at other locations in the area, presented a program of Tibetan sacred music and dance at the Bearsville Theatre, and constructed a Green Tara Sand Mandala at the Woodstock Artists Association Gallery. They also had an opportunity to visit various local attractions, and to meet individually with interested people for consultations and special blessings.

The following photographs and newspaper articles resulted from this most auspicious visit—we hope that these monks will visit us again!
